Happy Spring!
It's finally here! Although we thought we were finally getting a taste of it here in New York, it's gone back to being a bit chilly. So even though we may all be super excited for little spring sun dresses and sandals, we're not quite there yet (at least not on the East Coast anyway.)
A fun way to start wearing all your pretty spring florals and short sundresses is to layer them. My favorite thing to layer with is, as you can see, jeans! White jeans or light wash blue, even distressed, jeans can look so cute under a short sundress because it makes the dress just look like a long top.
Another great way to layer with a sundress is to just add a long, heavy cardigan on top.
With Easter this week, this is such a great style because it lets you wear something that just screams spring while also being warm, plus you'll be nice and comfy in a loose dress (because who wears tight clothes to a family holiday get-together where there's a ton of F-O-O-D? Am i right or am i right?) The wedges could be switched out for some closed flats or flat sandals, too!
Now for some details... My Rebecca Taylor Dress is from Thred-Up. If you haven't heard of Thred-Up yet, it's pretty much just the best consignment/thrift store you've ever come across because:
a) it's online
b) almost all the items they carry are brand new and still have the original price tag on them!
Yes, like, have never even been worn before.
c) they carry just about everything; bags and shoes, too! Plus they have a huge selection of sizes
(kids clothes, too!)
d) And last, but not least, the prices are AMAZING.
After having heard about Thred-Up for the billionth time in one week, I knew I had to give it a try. Within 2 minutes of browsing the site I had 15 things in my shopping cart. The prices for the quality and brands they carry are too good!
One of the pieces I fell in absolute LOVE with was this Rebecca Taylor number. And I just could not believe the marked down price. On Thred-Up's site it said the original price tag was $199...the Thred-Up price was $43.99!!!!! Then when I received it in the mail and opened it up, the original price tag was still on it from Saks Off 5TH and that said that the original pricing had been marked down TO $199 from, get this... $399. Literally could not believe my eyes. The dress was originally $400 and I got it for $44!! That's almost 90% off!
That is the best shopping win of my entire life, all thanks to Thred-Up!
I got a couple of other pieces, too, which I'll be posting in the next few weeks so make sure to check back for them and definitely head over to Thred-Up to find some amazing deals of your own!
Have a great week and a wonderful Easter to all those celebrating this week! (I'll be celebrating Greek Easter, which falls on May 1st this year :)
xo
